State House meeting with Senate President Therese Murray

State House, Boston, MA
After meetings in Boston last week with senior Legislators including Senate President Therese Murray, we learned this afternoon that approx $12M was recently “found” and allocated to MASS DOT snow and ice operations to partially fund open invoices to hired equipment vendors.  As of today approximately $27M is owed to contractors.  Sources tell us that these funds will be divided between the 6 DOT Districts and that a partial payment could be seen as soon as the end of next week.  I must add that the Senate President was more than gracious during our meeting last Wednesday, very forthcoming with helpful information, and totally committed to helping resolve long standing payment issues with snow and ice contractors providing services to MASS DOT.
Please remember that we need ALL contractors to contact their state representatives and urge quick passage of House Bill #3867 which provides for deficit spending authority for MASSDOT officials.
